Reward yourself with a fully supported bike ride on quiet country roads through some of the most spectacular fall scenery Texas has to offer. The Texas Hill Country River Region Classic starts at 8:00 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2008, from Garner State Park and follows the Frio and Sabinal rivers plus climbs the ridge that divides them. Route choices include 34, 52, 68 and 94 miles with well-stocked rest stops about every 10 miles. The River Region Classic is an official event of the Texas Hill Country River Region. To preserve the enjoyability of participants, the River Region Classic will be limited to 600 riders. The RRC will be held rain or shine; no refunds will be available. Proceeds of this ride benefit local civic organizations. Because this ride is made possible by the Hotel Occupancy tax, we are able to offer a 20% rebate on registration fees to anyone staying in a THCRR accommodation. Bring your receipt when you check in, and pick up your rebate check after the ride. A post-ride pasta dinner is provided to all registrants for the 2008 River Region Classic, and a skills clinic on climbing and descending will be presented in the park on Friday evening, October 10. Registration is now open on BikeReg.com.
